A Note About the Pastor Ministry Confirmation Form

DETAILS SHOW/HIDE

Before you teach this course to someone you must have the permission of your pastor and their pastor. Show your pastor the material you are going to use to teach them, which is the Soul Winning Practicum textbook. Let him know you have already gone through the Soul Winning Practicum class and that you are familiar enough with it to know how to properly use it to teach someone else. If he agrees you can disciple the person, then have him use the Pastor Ministry Confirmation form that he can submit online. Under "Ministries" have him input: "Permission for student to teach the Soul Winning Practicum course to [name of person you are going to teach]." (He will also need your 18-Character Student ID.)

The person you are teaching probably will be a member of the Church where you are a member. If they are not a member of your church, then you will also need the permission of their pastor for them to be taught by you. In that case, a Pastor Ministry Confirmation form is needed:

  • From your pastor for you stating he has given "Permission for student to teach the Soul Winning Practicum course to [name of person you are going to teach]"

  • And one from their pastor stating that "[Name of person you are going to teach] has permission to take the Soul Winning Practicum course from [your name]." This is assuming they are a member of some church. If they are not a member of any church, then you will only need your pastor's permission for you to teach the course to them.

Make sure the pastor(s) submit your name as the name of the student and the name of the one you are going to teach in the "Ministries" box.

Your pastor knows if you are mature enough to teach someone else. The decision is up to them. Do not be angry with them if they refuse to give you their permission. If they say, "No," then realize they are doing it for your own good and for the good of the one to whom you want to teach the course. Should your pastor say no, then ask him when he thinks you will be ready to teach this course to someone. Maybe he can give you some material to help you mature to the point you need to properly and biblically teach someone else this course. Discuss it with your pastor in a non-confrontational manner and remember that God says they must give an answer for your soul. In other words your pastor is responsible to God for your growth toward maturity; and if they don't believe you are ready to take on the job and responsibility of teaching someone, then gracefully bow to their leadership and authority. In no way be rebellious or resentful concerning their decision. Simply appreciate their love and care for you and respect their authority in this matter.
